The French astronaut Thomas Pesquet returned to Earth on Friday 2 June after six and a half months in the International Space Station. His capsule Soyuz, who left the ISS shortly before 1 pm, landed in a steppe of Kazakhstan.

The French spationaut, who shared his experience on social networks during his 196-day mission in space, is expected this afternoon in Kazakhstan. The landing is scheduled at 4:10 pm (Paris time) on Friday 2 June in the steppes of Kazakhstan. After six and a half months spent in the International Space Station (ISS), the French spationaut Thomas Pesquet and his Russian colleague Oleg Novitski will take a place in a Soyuz spacecraft to reach Earth after a trip of about 3:20.----------------
The President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, will visit the National Center for Space Studies (CNES) in the company of the Minister of Research, Frédérique Vidal, to attend their return and "briefly" talk with the Frenchman Astronaut .
The two astronauts will be quickly taken care of by medical teams. Then the Frenchman will join Cologne, Germany, where he will undergo further tests and find his relatives - the stay in weightlessness has effects on bone and muscle mass. With this mission of 196 days, Thomas Pesquet, 39, is the French spationaut who made the longest stay in space continuously. This experience enabled him to realize two exits of the ISS and numerous scientific experiments.
