For the second year running, the 5-star Hôtel Royal has been nominated for the Villegiature Awards 2016. Since 2003, a jury of 22 leading international journalists honors the finest hotels in Europe, Africa and Asia. The Hôtel Royal has been nominated in the following categories : 'Best Hotel Design & Architecture in Europe', 'Best Hotel Bar in Europe' and 'Grand Prix for the Best Resort in Europ'.

The Hôtel Royal, known for its stunning Belle Epoque style and spacious interiors, re-opened a year ago following complete refurbishment. The grand-scale renovation project was entrusted to interior designer, François Champsaur, and head architect of historic monuments, François Chatillon, and has given this centennial building its radiant aura back. The original frescoes painted at the start of the 20th century by Gustave Louis Jaulmes have also been restored.
In the bar, the designer chandelier that hangs over the marble bar bestows a decidedly chic, timeless atmosphere on the place. The hushed ambience is accompanied by the sound of barmen's shakers and guests chatting.

After deliberation by the jury, hotels will be presented with their Villegiature Awards at the ceremony to be held on Monday 17 October 2016 in Paris.
