Marc Fesneau, Minister of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty, accompanied by leaders of inter-professions, sectors and French agricultural companies, is in Meknes in Morocco to participate in the inauguration of the 16th edition of the International Food Fair Agriculture in Morocco (SIAM), at the invitation of Mohammed Sadiki, Moroccan Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests.

The agricultural sector is a pillar of the economy and identity of both France and Morocco and cooperation in this area, the historical foundation of the relationship between our two countries, covers many dimensions: education, training, research, health and phytosanitary.

Illustration of the renewed dynamism of Franco-Moroccan cooperation, 8 professional and institutional agreements were also signed in the presence of the two ministers during the International Agricultural Show in Morocco:
· Cereal sector: framework agreement between Intercéales and the Interprofessional Federation of Cereal Activities (FIAC);
· Seed sector: framework partnership agreement between Semae and the National Interprofessional Seed Federation (FNIS);
· Dairy sector: framework cooperation agreement between Interbev and Maroc Lait;

· Crédit agricole du Maroc (CAM) and the French development agency (AFD) signed a new program “Support for the fight against climate change and food security” with new financing of €72.1 million. AFD to the CAM which mobilizes co-financing from the Green Climate Fund.

Finally, the renewed cooperation aims to make the Franco-Moroccan couple a driver of change in the Mediterranean and Africa. This involves defending common positions and initiatives and developing joint projects, whether in the Mediterranean area or in partnership with sub-Saharan Africa.
