USPA NEWS - The 2023 Vilnius summit is an ongoing NATO summit taking place on 11–12 July 2023, in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. The summit was officially proposed during the 2022 Madrid summit and its dates were fixed on 9 November 2022. During the opening of the NATO Summit in Vilnius, Day One, french President Emmanuel Macron made a strong
announcement over weapons to help Ukraine, as a response to Russia's war on Ukraine and pushing for NATO membership.
The French head of state announced France will provide Ukraine with Scalp long-range cruise missiles to help Ukrainian forces strike targets deep behind Russian lines, President Emmanuel Macron said Tuesday, July 11, NATO’s Summit Day 1.

THE SCALP/STORM SHADOW IS A FRENCH-ENGLISH WEAPON WITH A RANGE OF 250 KM MISSILE The SCALP/Storm Shadow is a French-English weapon with a range of 250 kilometers, the longest of any Western weapon supplied to Ukraine so far, and Britain announced two months ago,  that it would supply a batch of the advanced weapons. Russia reacted with angrily and spokesperson of Kremlin Peskov, said this will lead to escalation, and, warned that London risked being involved directly into the conflict, and even some Western allies were concerned that Ukraine might conduct strikes into Russia itself. "From our point of view, this decision is a mistake with consequences for the Ukrainian side, because this will, of course force us to take countermeasures," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said of France's decision to supply Ukraine with long-range missiles.President Macron, explained that the SCALP Missiles (unknown amount) are to be delivered to Ukraine "in coherence with our doctrine, that is to say to permit Ukraine to defend its own territory."
"Germany for its part will pledge another 700 million euros in military assistance to Ukraine on Tuesday, government sources told Agence France Presse. Berlin, Ukraine's second biggest supplier of arms to resist the Russian invasion, had already announced a new weapons package worth 2.7 billion euros for Kyiv in May, ahead of a visit by President Volodymyr Zelensky."
