During the Franco-German Council of Ministers of January 22, 2023 and on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Elysee Treaty, the President of the French Republic and the Federal Chancellor of Germany announced the creation of a Franco-German note for young people from both countries. This initiative, officially launched on Monday June 12, 2022 by Clement Beaune, Minister for Transport, and his German counterpart, Volker Wissing, Federal Minister for Digital and Transport, will take the form of a “France Germany Pass”. The Pass, is accessible to all young people aged 18 to 27, it will allow 30,000 young French people to travel to Germany from July 1 to December 31, and to enjoy up to 7 days of unlimited and free travel on the entire German rail network." THE IDENTICAL DEVICE WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR 30,000 YOUNG GERMANS
The identical device will be available for 30,000 young Germans. The France Germany Pass thus goes beyond a simple return ticket: each young person can decide on their program and thus choose the duration of their stay, the routes and the cities visited, to discover Germany, its culture and his youth.From Monday, 60,000 France-Germany Passes will be distributed free of charge by the two Governments, with the support of SNCF and DB, on the platform: passefrancegermany.fr. Regarding France, 15,000 France Germany Passes are available on a “first come, first served” basis. The other 15,000 France Germany Passes will be distributed primarily to specific eligible audiences: scholarship students, apprentices and young people with fewer opportunities.
