THE FRENCH REGIONS EXPRESS THEIR SOLIDARITY & PROVIDE THEIR SUPPORT

TO TURKEY & SYRIA OVER THE EARTHQUAKE

USPA NEWS - Following the deadly earthquake that hit southern Turkey and northwestern Syria on February 6, France affirmed its support for the populations affected by this earthquake, which caused the death of more than 22,000 people. . Alongside the State, French communities have since been mobilizing to provide emergency aid to the affected populations and to local territorial communities.

Faced with the tragedy of February 6, the Regions will play their full part in France's international solidarity action. Several of them have already announced their commitment to help victim populations.

In order to allow the dissemination of this surge of solidarity, Regions of France joins the multi-sectoral emergency appeal launched by the NGO ACTED, of which it is a partner, whose vocation is to provide multi-purpose monetary assistance, by providing hygiene kits or shelters to ensure the protection of populations or by participating in the rehabilitation of infrastructures. As always, ACTED's action will be carried out in conjunction with the local authorities and associations present in the field.

Finally, Regions of France wishes to relay the opening of the External action fund for local authorities (FACECO) “Turkey - Syria”, opened on February 9 by the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, intended to allow local authorities French authorities to provide emergency aid to the victims of humanitarian crises.
