USPA NEWS - The High Council for Equality between Women and Men announces its contribution to the process of a regional and global review of commitments made by states in the framework of the Beijing World Conference on Women (Beijing + 25), in order to make an additional voice, including that of civil society, heard, in addition to the report sent by the French administration to the services of the UN. The HCE report highlights the main issues that seem to have progressed in France over the past five years, in particular the strengthening of parity in corporate governance bodies, the introduction of sexism into law and the strengthening of financial means. sanctions, efforts towards transparency and the fight against wage inequalities with the creation of the Index of professional equality between women and men, the commitment to a "feminist diplomacy".

The HCE recalls that the Beijing Platform for Action and its 12 critical areas [1] constitute a road map for gender equality and women's empowerment that must continue to guide action, in an international context marked by challenges to rights acquired by women.
