USPA NEWS - Charles Palant, former prisoner and co founder of the Movement against Racism and for Friendship between Peoples (MRAP), died Friday at the age of 93 years, have we learned Sunday from the association."Charles Palant died in Paris Friday, February 26," he told AFP Godoy Augustin, co-chair of MRAP.

Charles Palant, former prisoner and co founder of the Movement against Racism and for Friendship between Peoples (MRAP), died Friday at the age of 93 years, have we learned Sunday from the association. "Charles Palant died in Paris Friday, February 26," he told AFP Godoy Augustin, co-chair of MRAP. "With him, it turns off a tireless witness whose message of brotherhood and tolerance will be remembered," wrote on its website the Foundation for the Memory of the Shoah, which hails "a great activist rights Man".--------------------------------------------------------------------- CHARLES PALANT WAS A SURVIVOR OF HOLOCAUST"S AUSCHWITZ------------------------------------------------------ Charles Palant was born in 1922 in Paris, arrested in Lyon in 1943 by the Gestapo and deported with his mother and sister to Auschwitz, from where he will return alone. On his return, the man who became an Officer of the Legion of Honour in 1949 co-founded the MRAP, and will be the general secretary from 1950 to 1971. He, thereafter, "2015 assured the representation of MRAP with the CNCDH (National Consultative Commission on Human Rights)," said Agustin Godoy. His burial will be held Wednesday, March 2 in Paris.
