USPA NEWS - On November 6, 2015, in Lyon, the two associations of elected representatives of the urban world, the Association of Mayors of Major Cities of France (AMGVF), chaired by Jean-Luc Moudenc, mayor of Toulouse, president of Metropolis Toulouse, and Association of urban Communities of France (ACUF).

On November 6, 2015, in Lyon, the two associations of elected representatives of the urban world, the Association of Mayors of Major Cities of France (AMGVF), chaired by Jean-Luc Moudenc, mayor of Toulouse, Toulouse president of Metropolis, and Association of urban Communities of France (ACUF), chaired by Gerard Collomb, Senator mayor of Lyon, President of the Lyon Metropole, will formalise their grouping.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ A new Association will emerge with an identity and a renewed governance under the slogan "Urban world, a chance for France", was voted during a plenary session with the participation of the Prime Minister, Manuel Valls. "The merger of two reference organisations in the sphere of local government is a major event and an important step in the regionalisation process induced by the territorial reform. It is the culmination of a rapprochement initiated and carried by two organisations that have progressively joined expertise and know-how at the service of the effectiveness of public policies."
