USPA NEWS - The 31st session of the Francophonie Ministerial Conference be held in Yerevan (Armenia) on 10 and 11 October 2015 at Complexe concerts and sports Karen Demirchyan (CMF). The Secretary of State for European Affairs, Mr Harlem Desir, will represent France in Armenia.

SECRETARY OF STATE FOR EUROPEAN AFFAIRS, HARLEM DESIR REPRESENTS FRANCE AT CMF ARMENIA The Secretary of State for European Affairs, Mr Harlem Désir, will visit Armenia from October 8 to 11 to represent France at the 31th session of the Ministerial Conference of La Francophonie, to be held on 10 and 11 October Yerevan. There will reaffirm France's attachment to the Francophone values and the need for French-speaking countries, to engage with determination to face the global challenges, chief among them the refugee crisis and the fight against global warming. As part of this trip, the Secretary of State, Harlem Desir, will be received in audience by the President of Armenia, Mr. Serzh Sargsyan and will hold talks with Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, and the Minister of Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian Mr. He will discuss with his interlocutors the prospects for cooperation between the EU and Armenia, as well as bilateral relations and regional situation.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Harlem Desir will also meet with students and former graduates of the French University in Armenia (UFAR). He will also meet with representatives of French companies as well as members of the Armenian civil society and will receive at the Embassy of France in Armenia the French community. Finally, the Secretary of State shall visit the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial to pay tribute to the victims of the Armenian genocide of 1915.
