THE GLOBAL CITIZEN FORUM IS A NON PROFIT PLATFORM --------------------------------------------------------------------- This year, the GCF, a non-profit platform, will call attention to the intensifying refugee crisis in Europe and the urgent need to enact effective solutions. Additionally the Forum will feature discussions on global security, foreign direct investment and the future of global citizenship. One potential solution to this challenge is the Global Citizen Tax which will be further discussed at the forum. The tax would be a simple levy on investor applications for residence or citizenship in EU countries. The proposed tax could mean big changes, potentially funding over a billion euros in the next five years. These funds demonstrate the positive impact global citizenship can have, whether it´s through the creation of jobs.

The current situation of migrants fleeing their country at war or undergoing armed conflict, is becoming more dramatic this year. Terrorists have pushed migrants outside the borders off for a first step in "flight" turned into "migration", which today turns out a "exile". They were left by the hundreds and thousands and millions have today, mainly from Syria, Afghanistan, Eritrea, West Africa.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ These migrants want to escape from their tormentors and torture and war, and aspire qu'a new life, attracted by the hope of settling in Europe. A Europe that is both so close and far away, just an "absorption" of the high flux, all the sudden, and increasingly numerous and constant since this summer. The European Union, trying to find solutions that can be both sustainable and especially human, while maintaining stability of the continent. The European Union, is torn between firmness and solidarity, debating and considering practical solutions to find the best balance and why not take a profit from this opportunity for some countries with low birth rates. Thus Germany hosted almost 1 million refugees, installed under the status of "political asylum" which according to Angela Merkel, "are an opportunity for our nation, to contribute to economic growth in a contribuant growth and improve the demography ". While countries in Eastern Europe such as Hungary, Czech and Slovakia stand of barriers, walls, barbed wire to block the migrants arriving by land to their borders. The Global Citizen Forum, did well to seize this issue to make it the center of the debates of the 3rd edition, with the participation of Kofi Annan, Jose Barroso and Irina Bokova, whose their active participation and proposals should bring a value added appreciable to find sustainable solutions to the crisis of refugees.€1.5 MILLION IN HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE TO REFUGEES&MIGRANTS IN WESTERN BALKAN VIENNA SUMMIT WHILE REFUGEE DRAMA OCCURS - See more at: http://www.uspa24.com/bericht-5048/15-million-in-humanitarian-assistance-to-refugeesundmigrants-in-western-balkan.html#sthash.iqZEDsww.dpuf
