USPA NEWS - French Journal "Le Monde" is organizing on 10 and 11 September in Abidjan two days of debates and meetings on the theme "Africa, future of the world." In "Debates African World", “We want to be at the heart of the debate of ideas on the growth of the African continent. "This first edition will focus on three themes, three drivers of African growth likely to take over from raw materials to ensure take-off of the continent: the entrepreneurial youth, the city of tomorrow and the African creativity. said Jerome Fenoglio, director of "Le Monde" Journal. The debates and meetings, led by the journalists of "Le Monde" Journal will be open to the public and free access (registration). After opening remarks and welcome, to be delivered by President Alassane Ouattara will speak to young entrepreneurs, creators, experts and top-flight personalities like the economist Thomas Piketty, CEO of Orange Stephane Richard, Mayor of Dakar Khalifa Sall, the historian Achille Mbembe, the Lea Seydoux actress, musician Rokia Traoré or essayist, prospective specialist Jeremy Rifkin.-----------------------------------------------A UNIQUE EVENT OF TWO DAYS OF DEBATES IN ABIDJAN------------------------------------For the first time, it is a unique event to be held in Abidjan by the prestigious “Le Monde“ Journal, signing the first edition. The operation aims to encourage and enhance debates about the future of Africa and facilitate networking between experts students and the public.--------------------------------------------------What are the role of these debates? "Providing participants, especially young people, the opportunity to meet inspiring and influential people, coming from all walks," explains Serge Michel, manager of the World Editorial Africa. With over 1000 people expected each day, the Debates of the World Africa will be a completely new event. It will be not only the first organised by Le Monde outside France, but also the first international conference on the public debate of ideas in a Francophone African countries.------------------------These two days in Abidjan also mark the beginning of the cycle of meetings organised by the World Africa, to be held alternately in France and Africa, in several capitals of the continent and which will address the youth.-----------------------------------This is an initiative to commend.
