USPA NEWS - To present the creation of the 'Centre de Création Contemporaine Olivier DEBRE' and the Program 2017-2018, a Press Conference was held at the JEU DE PAUME Concorde (PARIS) Museum on November 3, 2016 with its representatives coming from the City of TOURS. They are two Museums called JEU DE PAUME :
To present the creation of the 'Centre de Création Contemporaine Olivier DEBRE' and the Program 2017-2018, a Press Conference was held at the JEU DE PAUME Concorde (PARIS) Museum on November 3, 2016 with its representatives coming from the City of TOURS. They are two Museums called JEU DE PAUME : one in PARIS and one in TOURS. The Museums is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Communication.
'Jeu de paume' was originally a French game similar to lawn tennis, but played without racquets. The players hit the ball with their hands as in volleyball. Jeu de paume literally means: game of palm (of the hand). After some time gloves replaced bare hands. This is the ancestor of 'pelote basque', 'pelote valencienne', ' balle pelote', 'balle au tambourin', 'tennis'... In general of all games using a racket. Nowaday, it represents the venue for Exhibition of ContemporaryAart and Photography.
Regarding the 'Centre de Création Contemporaine Olivier DEBRE' (CCOD), it is planned to open in 2017 becoming a great cultural venue collecting the artist's works of art and wishing to make he CIty of TOURS and its surroundings shine on local, regional, national and even international levels. It is some kind of pioneer in expanding the most current art and to make it accessible to the largest number. The equipment is financed by : EUROPE (FEDER), the French Ministry of Culture and Communication, the County Council of Indre-et-Loire and the the Urban Community of Tours. Olivier DEBRE was born in 1920 and died in 1999 in PARIS.
This venue will propose in particular three different specific areas :

- THE NEF : monumental works seen from outside thinks to large windows
- THE WHITE GALERY : specificities of the 'white cube' with its large volumes and its indirect overhead lighting
- THE BLACK GALERY : total darkness whic is a constant demand in the practices of contemporary exhibitions

- Three auditoriums
- One Book Shop
- A Contemporary 'Café Club' offering a refined cuisine, simple and affordable.
The Donation from Olivier DEBRE (validated in 2008) :

- Five oils on canvas ( from 1991)
- 150 Drawings
- Permanent Lending of 140 paintings

- In the WHITE GALERY, Exhibition of Olivier DEBRE works of Art (March 10 to September 03, 2017)

- In the NEF : installation of PER BARCLAY ( Norwegian Artist Living and working in Turin) added to a painting from Olivier DEBRE (Larch 10 to September 15, 2017)

- In the BLACK GALERY : the new generation on the Norwegian scene with Per Barclay, AK Dolven... (March 10 to beginning of June)

- The Exhibition 'Klaus Rinke, Düsseldorf my love' (October 2017 to March 2018)

- The Monographic Exhibition of Jordi COLOMER ( in 2018)
- The Exhibition of Lee UFAN , a Corean Contemporary Artist (From Jul, 2017)

- The Exhibition of Cécile BART French Artist (in 2018)
