For the third year running, Modern Ethnic Fashion Show Gala is bringing its exciting mélange of ethnically inspired haute couture from around the world, to San Francisco's SOMArts Cultural Center. The all-day cross-cultural event blends cutting-edge global fashion with live music, wild comedy, art auction, and amazing culinary creations by local and multi-national celebrity on-site chefs.

Will be on July 9, 2016, 10AM Opening Ceremony with All Day Exhibition ; at 5-6:30 pm Gala Dinner Reception ; at 6:30-7 pm Art Auction and Standup Comedy ; 7-8 pm Fashion Show ; 9-10 pm Live Music and Entertainment ; 10-2 am After Party Dance with DJ. All this at SOMArts CULTURAL CENTER.

The underlying mission is to promote global peace and honor cultural diversity, making the city of San Francisco one of the most desirable destinations for multi-culturally conscious events, for tourists and locals alike.
The goal of MODEFA is to help bring minority women artists to the forefront, and raise awareness of the key roles they play in the world, strengthening their positions economically, for a greater participation in the showbiz industry on a national and international level. The event will feature designs and runway models from cultures such as: Asia, Latin America, Eastern Europe, The Caribbean, The Middle East, Native American, the Mediterranean, Africa and more. Wearable technologies will also be displayed and auctioned off for our charitable cause.
MODEFA is an annual fundraising gala reception for the African Arts Academy, fiscally sponsored by the African American Historical and Cultural Society, based in San Francisco, California. African Arts Academy is a state of the art educational program, focusing on teaching the doctrines of specific art forms originating in the African diaspora, which includes, but is not limited to, music, arts, dance, culinary, fashion, hair, theater and more, based on the spirit of diversity, dynamic growth, sustainability, social justice, and the pursuit of intellectual entrepreneurship, while at the same time preserving one of the world's most ancient, cultural and natural heritages.
Producer and founder Fely Tchaco, is a native of Cote d'Ivoire, West Africa. She is an award winning recording artist, billboard nominee, visual artist, a model and a fashion designer. 'I am proud to be a part of this growing international movement that will benefit our community, our state and our nation and help propagate further understanding, that art will greatly contribute to world peace. I hope that you will join me in this effort.'
