USPA NEWS - John Kerry is attending AESAN Regional Forum in Kuala Lampur. Next, the Secretary travelled to Singapore on August 4 to meet with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Foreign Minister K. Shanmugam to discuss bilateral and regional issues as Singapore marks 50 years of independence.

SINGAPORE CELEBRATES 50 YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE----------------------------------------------------------------------------U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry attends a working breakfast with Foreign Minister K. Shanmugam upon arrival in “ŽSingapore for regional discussions and 50th Anniversary Celebration. Next, the Secretary will meet with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Foreign Minister K. Shanmugam to discuss bilateral and regional issues as Singapore marks 50 years of independence. The Secretary will also deliver a speech on the importance of U.S. trade and investment to prosperity in both the East Asia region and the United States.

Us Secretary John Kerry, is then visiting Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, August 4-6, to attend the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF). At the ARF, the Secretary will participate in four multilateral meetings including the Lower Mekong Initiative, U.S.-ASEAN, East Asia Summit, and ASEAN Regional Forum ministers meetings. In Hanoi, Vietnam August 6-8, the Secretary will meet with senior Vietnamese officials, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh to discuss bilateral and regional issues. He will also participate in an event marking the 20th anniversary of the establishment of U.S.-Vietnam diplomatic relations.
