USPA NEWS - G 20 summit, to be held on 15 and 16 November at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre in Queensland, will be the most significant meeting of world leaders Australia has hosted. On this occasion, the French head of state, responds to the invitation to conduct an official visit to Australia.

The G20 Summit, to be held on 15 and 16 November at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre in Queensland, will be the most significant meeting of world leaders Australia has hosted. Australia´s G20 presidency runs from 1 December 2013 to 30 November 2014. Hosting the G20 in 2014 gives Australia a valuable opportunity to influence the global economic agenda and to strengthen engagement with the world´s major economies. International engagement activities are supported by Australia´s diplomatic network. Mr Daniel Sloper, as G20 Special Representative in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, is supporting the Foreign Minister Julie Bishop and Australia´s Sherpa undertake international outreach and advocacy in support of the G20´s 2014 agenda.
On this occasion, the French head of state, takes the opportunity to conduct an official visit to Australia at the invitation of the Australian Government, during which he will meet the Prime Minister, Tony Abbott, on 18 and 19 November 2014. François Hollande will visit Sydney and Canberra. This will be the first state visit to Australia by a French President.
This visit will strengthen the historical ties and economic relations with the participation of a large delegation of French companies.
