***** ART CAPITAL - One Banner: 4 Salons
- Le Salon des Indépendants
Created in 1884, it was celebrating its 140th Anniversary in 2024. It was called the « Salon des Refusés » because the Artists taking part challenged the Codes and Principles of Academic Painting. What a Victory it was for this Salon, whose Name was not the Flattering One it used to be, to have Freely Exhibited the Greatest Names from all the Schools, whose Painters today ensure the Glory of the Great Museums of Modern Art. Its slogan remains: « No Jury, no Prize ». More than Thirty Countries are represented, and over 450 Artists.
