Justin Bieber charged with vandalism in egg-throwing case

USPA News - Canadian pop star Justin Bieber was charged Wednesday with one count of misdemeanor vandalism for allegedly throwing eggs at his neighbor`s residence in Southern California earlier this year, prosecutors said. The 20-year-old singer was not expected to be present for his 1:30 p.m.

PDT arraignment at the Los Angeles County Superior Court in Van Nuys, according the Los Angeles County District Attorney`s Office. If Bieber is convicted of vandalism with more than $10,000 in damages, he could face up to one year imprisonment and/or a fine of up to $50,000. Wednesday`s misdemeanor charge arose from a vandalism call in the city of Calabasas at 7:40 p.m. PDT on January 9, when eggs were thrown at a residence on Prado De Grandioso in Calabasas. Bieber is accused of tossing eggs over a fence, splattering it onto his neighbor`s house. Days after the incident, detectives executed a search warrant at Bieber`s luxury home to recover video surveillance and other possible evidence related to the crime. Several pieces of evidence were recovered and removed from Bieber`s residence, including the singer`s iPhone and security camera system. Investigators previously said multiple suspects may have been involved in the vandalism, which caused an estimated $20,000 in damage to the front of the luxury home. Bieber?s representative, Melissa Victor, did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
