Air Show Atlantic Returns To Greenwood, Nova Scotia, in 2024

USPA NEWS - Winter in Atlantic Canada can be intense. While many travel to warmer destinations to get some relief, others stay at home and brave what Mother Nature throws at the region. Many aviation enthusiasts and air show fans, however, choose to cope by counting down the days to the next air show, and after recent announcements from Air Show Atlantic, we now know the 2024 production is going to be nothing short of amazing.

In December 2023, officials from Air Show Atlantic attended the International Council of Air Shows(ICAS) Convention in Las Vegas and returned home with some exciting announcements.

The first big announcement was that Air Show Atlantic will be returning to 14 Wing CFB Greenwood on August 24th and 25th, 2024. The location is very fitting as this year marks the 100th Anniversary of the Royal Canadian Air Force.

Over the days that followed, further exciting announcements were made which created much buzz within the Air Show community. The first major performer announcement was that the F-16 Viper Demo Team from United States Air Combat Command will be performing at Air Show Atlantic in Greenwood this year! It was also confirmed that the CF-18 Demo Team and the Canadian Forces Snowbirds will be performing in Greenwood. The Snowbirds have not performed at 14 Wing Greenwood since 2017. The CF-18 Demo Team performed in Greenwood in the absence of the Snowbirds in 2019 but shared the stage with the US Navy Blue Angels along with many other great performers. Seeing both the CF-18 Demo Team and Canada's beloved Snowbirds return to Greenwood has excited many local aviation fans.

Other confirmed performers are: a Consolidated PBY-5A Canso, along with a Douglas C-47 Dakota, and a Grumman Avenger.
