Minister Vidadala Rajini emphasized the transformative impact of the Family Doctor concept on healthcare services, benefiting the populace. This initiative involves 14 types of tests and 105 drugs, offering personalized medical care. Addressing past issues of inadequate healthcare for the poor, CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy introduced a zero vacancy policy, recruiting 53,190 medical staff. Notably, 20.3 million people have accessed services through the Family Doctor concept. Additionally, CM Jagan inaugurated 17 new medical colleges, a historic stride, with plans to establish more, aiming for a medical college in every parliamentary constituency.
In a significant stride towards improving healthcare accessibility and service quality for the people of Andhra Pradesh, Minister for Health, Family Welfare and Medical Education Vidadala Rajini highlighted the implementation of the Family Doctor concept during her address in the Legislative Council today. This initiative has significantly enhanced medical services, benefiting the people across the state.
Under this innovative approach, individuals are now receiving better medical services through personalized care provided by designated family doctors. The concept involves 14 types of tests being conducted and 105 different types of drugs, ensuring a tailored approach to medical treatment.

In an effort to bolster healthcare infrastructure and human resources, CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy introduced a zero vacancy policy and oversaw the recruitment of an impressive 53,190 medical staff across the state. This strategic move aimed to address the prior issue of inadequate medical personnel and equipment, especially for testing, that had left many in need without proper healthcare.
Since assuming power, CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has spearheaded efforts to uplift medical services at the grassroots level, ensuring that even the economically disadvantaged receive adequate medical attention. A testament to this commitment is the inauguration of 17 new medical colleges, a historic achievement in the annals of Indian healthcare. These new colleges are poised to accommodate a total of 7,500 seats, with an estimated investment of Rs. 8,500 crores.

The state has seen substantial progress in medical education and facilities with new medical colleges established in key regions, including Vijayanagaram, Rajamahendravaram, Eluru, Machilipatnam, and Nandyal. This academic year, five medical colleges have been initiated, collectively offering 750 new medical seats. Also, plans are in place to establish more medical colleges in the upcoming academic years, fulfilling CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's vision of a medical college in every parliamentary constituency.
