Spaniards are the Europeans with the most desire to continue traveling
After the Summer
USPA NEWS -
The Spaniards are the Europeans with the most desire to travel in the coming months. This is confirmed by a survey by the Swedish firm Klarna, carried out on 9,000 people from eight countries, according to which 77% of the Spanish respondents expressed their desire to continue traveling after the Summer. The Spaniards, who during 2020 and 2021 had to forget their vacations due to the pandemic and the restrictions imposed by it, have launched this summer to travel both within the country and abroad. For the Spanish tourism sector, the Summer of this year, without reaching the figures from before the pandemic, can already be described as very satisfactory, with hotel occupancy that is close to 90% and consumption in bars and restaurants that is close to of 2019.
After Spain, according to the Klarna survey, Norway and the United Kingdom close the 'top 3' of countries with the most desire to travel in the coming months. They are followed by Sweden (62%), Denmark (61%), the United States (60%), Australia (57%) and Finland (57%). In addition, 61% of Spaniards indicate that they will travel to local destinations and stay in Spain on their vacations, compared to those who have other countries and cultures among their plans, thus showing a change in the leisure and travel experience.
Among the main motivations to travel is to disconnect from the routine, as part of the current trend focused on personal well-being. For this reason, those surveyed highlight that outdoor activities are the ones they will carry out the most in the coming months as a way of disconnecting. Thus, 55% of Spaniards affirm that they will do more outdoor activities than last year, with Spain being the second country of all those surveyed, behind the United States.
On the other hand, among all the countries surveyed, the Spanish people prove to be the most organized before making a trip, since 78% of them affirm that they have already planned, organized or investigated the trip before reaching their destination. After the Spaniards, the English (71%) and the Americans (70%) are the most planners. In contrast, those who least tend to organize trips in advance are the Finns (60%).
