USPA NEWS - On October 30th, 2018, the New York Office of the German Research Foundation DFG at the German Center for Research and Innovation held an international panel on "Museums in the Digital Age." An opening speech was delivered by Isabel Pfeiffer-Poensgen, Minister of Culture and Science at the State Government of North Rhine -Westphalia, Germany.
Introduction speeches were presented by Peter Rosenbaum, Executive Director of UA Ruhr New York and Dr. Rainer Gruhlich, DFG Director in North America.
Presentations were delivered by Stefan Brugerhoff, Director of German Mining Museum in Bochum,
Misha Kuball, Artist and Professor at Academy of Media in Cologne,
Frank Mecklenburg, Director of Research and Chief Archivist at Leo Baeck Institute,
Loic Tallon, Chief Digital Officer at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York
City,
Louisa Wood Ruby, Head Research, Art Reference Library at Frick Collection in New
York City, who, also, served as the moderator of the panel and the roundtable discussion
with Q & A.
